I was in deep sleep unaware that outside my dreams there was a raging storm here in Alabama. Lightning split the sky at a rate that my west coast eyes were not used to and I believe it was used to affect my dream. In this night dream I saw a flash of light and a man appeared in the light; it was an angel from heaven with the appearance of a strong man. He appeared next to a human male who was waiting for Heaven to respond wholeheartedly. Then another flash came and there were two praying men and four angels.
The next flash came and there were two men, a woman, two children, and twelve angels. Then flashes started so rapidly with people and angels appearing and multiplying that I could not keep up with the numbers. All that I knew is the light of Heaven was actively shooting towards the earth and there was divine placement happening.
I awoke to the outside lightning storm and I knew I had just witnessed the emerging generation of revivalists getting divine helpers from heaven assigned to them for personal break through so they could help break a generation into the fullness of God.
I had a vision of two large scales of justice and they were weighing prophetic people against truth. Many people were not weighty enough to measure rightly, and the Lord had to add Himself to their side of the scale so that they weighed rightly against truth. If they did not receive His measure then they would fail greatly in one area or another that would disqualify them for a season. God’s desire is not to discount people hungry to grow in revelation, but to establish them in truth.
There is a very real distraction that the enemy is trying to bring right now and it is not a new strategy but one of his age old schemes. He is trying to bring wars and rumors of war to the doorstep of nations to preoccupy us, not with the Heavenly Kingdom , but with earthly ones.
Our adversary is attempting to create a dilemma amongst the spiritual authorities in America with diverse directions and spiritual perspectives. The prophetic voices in the western world are not setting a new standard in this hour as God’s covenant people are called to do. Instead prophet voices, for the most part, are themselves distracted and trying to influence the natural dynamics based on information and news reports, instead of getting true counsel in the courts of Heaven.
This month I want to share a dream that is hard to relate if you did not have it yourself. However, I believe the sharing of it will help some people who are pioneering this next move of intercession and worship.
Martin Luther and the Wittenberg Door
I had a vision of a hand with a hammer in it. With violence in its strokes, the hand was nailing a paper to a large door. I looked at the paper and heard a loud noise that sounded like an explosion that shook the entire heavens.
As I was observing this scene, I remembered Martin Luther nailing his thesis to the Church door in Wittenberg, Germany on October 31st in the early 1500’s. These 95 theses carried the theme that we are not justified by the Church but by faith, and that we all had the God given authority to have our own relationship with God. The main fruit of this was that Martin Luther was able to print the Bible for every one to have the opportunity of reading it; the common people were empowered to read the logos word for themselves.
Since the early church, never had the entire world changed so much. It was not revival of God’s people or a few saved in one church; all of society began to change as people were able to understand who they are to God. It was a reformation of identity and the protestant Church came out of this incredible dynamic. It affected art, music, science, business, politics, and of course the Church. Nothing went unaffected by the great revelation of God being poured out.
For a child has been born–for us! The gift of a son–for us! He’ll take over the running of the world. His names will be : Amazing Counselor, Strong God, Eternal Father, Prince of Wholeness. His ruling authority will grow, and there’ll be no limits to the wholeness he brings. He’ll rule from the historic David throne over that promised kingdom. He’ll put that kingdom on a firm footing and keep it going With fair dealing and right living, beginning now and lasting always. The zeal of GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies will do all this. —Isaiah 9:6-7 (The Message Translation)
Think about what a beautiful plan the Father had when Mary became pregnant with the Son of God. Jesus had many reasons for following the Father’s plan, namely over six billion souls in our generation, not to mention every human who has been born since His resurrection and beyond!
On New Years day I was in that half asleep-half awakened state and a man came into my room and sat in my chair and began to talk to me. Because I thought it was a dream it did not startle me. As I began to grow more aware of this person, I realized how strange it was that I would be talking to him as I was getting up because no one ever enters my room to wake me.
This is when I became fully awake and the man disappeared. I believe he was a heavenly messenger. As I rehearsed the whole scenario through my mind over and over I could only remember the scriptures we were discussing. The main scripture was Isaiah 43:18-19:
Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! (Message translation)
Since God’s encounter with John resulting in the Book of Revelations, there has always been a remnant of people who have been hungry for the reality of the Throne Room. It is their earnest pursuit to see Jesus in His glory even while still on earth. Every generation had someone who was contending for this spiritual reality.
In our immaturity, modern prophetic experience has watered down the true pursuit of the holiness that comes with this type of experience. There is one primary distinction that sets apart a vessel for Throne Room Encounters; those who hunger for the reality of Heavenly encounters are pursuing it so that they might share in the burning desire of Jesus for His reward. They don’t want to just have a manifestation of gifting or an encounter so that they can know future events but they have a longing to know Jesus the way He longs to be known.
There are many lesser manifestations that are going on in the body of Christ today that people, out of inexperience or lack of knowledge, are calling Throne Room visitation. Some of these experiences have measures of reality but they are limited by human imagination. God releases these because there is a sincere desire to see into Heaven and know the realities of the spiritual world. We must understand though, the difference between lesser experiences which still have incredible value, and encounters in the Throne Room.
WHO CAN UNDERSTAND THE THUNDER OF GOD’S POWER?
Revelation 10:4, And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven say, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said and do not write it down.”
In a prophetic vision, I heard the voice of God saying ‘The Seven Thunders of Heaven are Speaking.’ I can feel a contending going on in the body of Christ in the western world because we are in a ‘between times’ interval before a great outpouring of the Spirit. During this season it is hard to maintain vision for what is to come without comparing it to something we have already lived through or experienced. God is about to do a new thing though, something that we have not seen.
In this time, there is a great danger because the spirit of unbelief is plaguing many, including some mature Christians who have been through past moves of the Spirit of God. The enemy is trying to steal their hope and anticipation that something better is truly on the horizon.
Heb 11:15-16: If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country– a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
Exodus 34:9: “O Adonai, if I have found favor in Your eyes,” he said, “then let the Lord (Adonai, the Angel of Covenant, the Messiah) go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people, forgive our wickedness and our sin, and take us as your inheritance.
The word favor comes from the same word in Hebrew as the word grace. Its root is Chen which means to be well favored, blessed, graced, and distinguished. God is again finding people who He can release His chen (favor) upon.
In Exodus 34:9 Moses is specifically talking to Adonai not Jehovah, which was normally the way God was addressed in prayer. The name Adonai used here, specifically refers to the nature of God as the Messiah. Moses was the first to acknowledge God in this particular covenant Messianic way. This was for a very specific reason. Moses had become a friend of God on God’s terms. He didn’t pray for Adonai to speak to him for his own sake, but he said in Exodus 33:13:
If You are pleased with me, teach me Your ways so I may know You and continue to find favor with You. Remember that this nation is Your people.
